Director Saint impresses with cool transitions between shots and an entirely appealing film overall. The story is that of love hurts, and given the name of the film; this is an anti-love film. The idea that love kills is very much the soul of this short film.
The music choice is suitable and gives off a depressing vibe. Along with the sip of his drink and the cigarette the shots and story are relevant to each other. We feel like we are drowning in sorrow along anti-valentine, because of the shots and content. The burning of the rose at the climax is also very visually appealing and emotive.
I think it is a great film for its length but would have loved it to be longer with a story, who is he sad about, what did they do, what brought him to his depths and has he let it go?
I give it a 4/5 rating. Good watch.
